My journey into weddings actually started with a friend who trusted me to bring her vision to life on one of the most important days. That said, it’s never truly ‘too late.’ Whether you’re just starting or already deep into planning, a planner can step in, organize the details, and make sure everything comes together seamlessly.

Before diving into wedding planning, I always encourage couples to remember that this is your day—not anyone else’s. It’s easy to get caught up in opinions, trends, and expectations, but the most meaningful weddings are the ones that truly reflect the couple. Start with what matters most to you, set your priorities early, and let that guide every decision. Wedding planning involves a lot of decisions and not all of them are glamorous. Setting a realistic budget, understanding your priorities, and staying organized from the beginning will make the entire process smoother. Also, flexibility is key, things may not always go exactly as planned, but that doesn’t mean it won’t be perfect. Lastly, no one knows what the day is supposed to look like, regardless of the end result it will be the perfect day because that day is focused on celebrating the only two people that matter that day. 

Q: From a planner’s perspective, what should couples look for when choosing their wedding photographer?

From a planner’s perspective, a great photographer is about so much more than beautiful images. We look for someone who communicates well, stays organized, and can confidently guide a timeline while still being flexible in the moment. The best photographers know how to capture key moments without disrupting the flow of the day and have the ability to capture you two as authentically as possible. They work seamlessly alongside the vendor team to keep everything running smoothly.
